Why the Claude Parent Prize
To encourage an alternative and visionary architecture
Inspired by Claude Parent's constant will to question architecture in its foundations,to research and experiment with an alternative architectural scenario, this biennial international prize aims to reward active architects whose work opens new fields for this discipline, following in the footsteps of the architect of the Oblique and in the spirit of innovation and imagination he championed. These architects bring something fundamentally innovative, revolutionary, or visionary, whatever their area of architectural exploration.
It will also allow architecture students to attend demanding debates, to better understand the work of Claude Parent, that of the winners, the members of the jury, and above all, to become aware of the need, today, to explore and propose new transgressions.
For the 2024 prize, we received applications from 36 countries!

LORIS GRĒAUD CREATES THE CLAUDE PARENT PRIZE TROPHY
The trophy-sculpture was created specifically and exclusively for this 2026 edition of the prize by conceptual artist Loris Gréaud. The work is inspired by the artist’s collaboration with the architect, particularly the “Workshop,” the artist’s studio and the last building constructed by Claude Parent.
